Meet Charles Smith — From Everywhere to Align
When Mr. Smith first came to me, he was all over the place…literally. He had just published a parenting book, taught free plant-based classes, started a company, launched a radio show, and was dreaming of a cooking channel. Mr. Smith purchased the Signature Media Expansion Package.
During our Story-to- Discovery Session, one simple question changed everything.
“If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be?”
His answer immediately gave us insight into what he was trying to build and who he wanted to become. We aligned all his projects into one purpose-driven message, giving his audience a name: The Fighters! Together, we built a brand that unified his book, radio platform, and healthy-living mission into a cohesive digital presence. TODAY, Mr. Smith is booked and truly busy.

Meet Dana & Amber -
From Friends to Founders
Dana, a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, and Amber, a School Psychologist, were chit-chatting on the phone one day. They both discussed what they wished moms understood about what’s really happening behind their child’s mental health struggles - particularly African American parents. They didn’t want fame or followers. They wanted impact. Through their Story-to-Discovery session, we clarified their shared mission and the tone of voice that would connect with moms authentically — two professionals, yes, but also two real moms sharing relatable truths.
Their brand was born in that moment, and they launched their first YouTube series with confidence and clarity.
Meet Sharon -
From Nervous to Noteworthy
Sharon had already written a book about her three divorces and the wisdom she’d gained — but she didn’t yet see herself as a voice for others.
In her Story-to- Discovery, we uncovered that her true calling wasn’t just to tell her story — it was to guide women through healing and rediscovery.
Though hesitant, Sharon agreed to record a pilot podcast. While interviewing her, with permission, we captured her words in her own vocie to use as the intro to her series. See below. With each session, her confidence grew, her message strengthened, and her story transformed into a platform of hope.
Listen to her introduction:
And Then There’s Me
THE STORY THAT STARTED IT ALL
Before Who Am I Media ever existed, I, Chara McGill, was just like many of my clients — sitting on a story I was too afraid to share.
My turning point came one summer while I was serving as a Program Manager at a Girl Scout camp. I watched the camp nurse hand out antidepressant medication to girls who were only 11, 12, 13 years old. When I spoke with their mothers, they told me the heartbreaking truth:
“It’s their body image. They think they’re ugly. They don’t feel good enough.”
Their pain was familiar — because I had lived it.
As a young adult, I struggled with suicidal thoughts tied to a skin condition that I’d developed. I knew what it felt like to look in the mirror and not see beauty… or worth. But I had survived….with a disfigured face. And I knew I had a story and a framework that could help girls and women overcome the same battle.
So I made a decision: I would not stay silent.
I printed out news articles of mothers holding pictures of their daughters — daughters who didn’t survive their mental and emotional battles with self-worth. I taped those articles to my wall so that every morning, I woke up with a reminder of why my voice, my story, and my mission mattered. I wasn’t building a brand — I was answering a calling.
That calling led me to write my first book: Chara’s Story: Trying to Get To A Place Called Pretty
On the day of my book release, I made myself a promise: I would celebrate every step — even if no one else did yet. So I bought a cake with my book cover on it for my first vendor event. I didn’t wait to be acknowledged. I acknowledged myself. That book began changing lives, and I knew I needed a website. But every company I consulted quoted me $5,000–$6,000 — far beyond what I could afford. So I taught myself. I built my own website from scratch.
That experience is why our website packages today stay accessible — because purpose shouldn’t be priced out of reach.
In 2019, I launched my first website: www.charasstory.com
Soon after, I founded Chara’s Story Inc, now a 501(c)(3), focused on helping girls and women build inner confidence and self-worth.
And then, something expanded in me.
I realized the same storytelling that healed me — the same process that helped me discover who I truly was — could help others bring their purpose to life too. That’s when Who Am I Media was born: a bridge between your story and the platform you were created to build.
If you see me doing this work today, know this:
I am living proof that when you stop playing small, stop waiting for permission, and step into the story God wrote for you — everything changes.
